The Centre
The Centre is a resource for people working within the substance misuse sector in Wales. A virtual centre has been created for the substance misuse sector, and can be accessed via a website called DAT Oracle. The purpose of The Centre is to increase the use of the Drug and Alcohol National Occupational Standards (DANOS) and using the Standards to help identify the training and development needs of people working in the substance misuse field.
The Centre is aimed at providing help for workers who want to demonstrate that they meet the DANOS standards. This can be done either through formal assessment methods such as NVQ’s, or through less structured mechanisms such as job appraisals and personal development plans.
work2health are working in partnership with CAIS and WGCADA to establish and manage The Centre on an All Wales basis. The project is funded by the Welsh Assembly Government.
